Will strive to make Wayanad an international tourism destination
Congress leader and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi said that he would strive to turn Wayanad into an international tourism destination.
Speaking at meetings in Thiruvambadi and Mukkam on the third day of the tour of the flood hit areas in the constituency on Thursday, Rahul said that tourism was a huge potential asset for Wayanad.
“There are many exciting things that can be done in Wayanad. Tourism is a huge potential asset. We should make Wayanad a centre of tourism and when people think about God’s Own Country, immediately they should think of Wayanad,” he said.
Rahul said that there were tremendous opportunities in the agricultural sector as well in the constituency and efforts should be made for marketing the unique rice varieties of Wayanad and the tea from the hill constituency under the Wayanad brand.
Rahul said that though Wayanad was facing complex issues like the night traffic ban on NH- 766 through the Bandipur Tiger Reserve, the human-animall conflict and the challenges in the education and health sector and connectivity, he was confident of working together with the people to find solutions for the issues.
